HOPE VALLEY RIDING CLUB
NERVOUS & NOVICE ONE DAY EVENT!!
Sunday 20th August 2023
To be held on the HVRC show ground at Bamford
This is open to everyone and is designed to give everyone a taste of what its like to compete in an event!
Entry fees: HVRC members £18 per class Non members £20 per class
All competitors to pay £1 to cover first aid.
Classes will be split into a senior and junior ( under 16) section, Rosettes to 6th in each section and prizes in kind.
To be run under current pony club / British Riding club rules.
Any safe & suitable tack may be used for the SJ & XC, snaffle bridles & no martingales must be worn for the dressage phase.
Hats must conform to PAS015 2011 for all 3 phases and suitable body protectors MUST be worn on XC. Cross country colours may also be worn.
Open to all riders aged 5 years and over but their safety and ability to compete is the sole responsibility of their parent or guardian.
SJ – 4 faults for a knock down or refusal, 3 refusals = elimination, fall of horse or rider = elimination.
XC – 20 penalties for 1st refusal, 40 for 2nd refusal, 3rd refusal = elimination, fall of horse or rider = elimination. The SJ is not timed but there will be an optimum time for the XC course. Pony’s / Horses may only enter one class.
Riders ride at their own risk and MUST have their own 3rd party insurance.
Class 1. Mini Eventers – INTRO A Dressage test, SJ & XC jumps will not exceed 50cm – lead reins are welcome in this class ( there will be a 3rd section added to this class for those on lead rein or just off the lead rein separate to the under 16 section and again with its own rosettes & prizes).
Class 2. Novice Eventers – Prelim 2 Dressage test, SJ & XC jumps will not exceed 60cm.
Class 3. Brave pants Eventers – Prelim 7 Dressage test, SJ & XC jumps will not exceed 70cm.

Pre entries only made online via Horse monkey – NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY. HVRC members get a discount at checkout if you put your membership number in (if you aren’t sure of your membership number, please email Kate Molyneux at kate@hollowgatefarm.com ). Entries close 8pm Wednesday 16th August 2023.
Dressage times will be released on Thursday 17th August 2023 after 6pm and posted on Facebook or call Marie on above number.
